No longer a Sears Grand, they cut the store in half and sold the south part of the building to Burlington. The new layout looks nice at a glance but is small and underwhelming. You'd think the selection would be better now that they refocused their efforts but we still could not find sizes and styles we needed. The new checkout system is horrible, they just have a big desk like at a mall with one line in place of the straight lane checkouts. Auto Center is gone, Garden center is gone, grocery and everything worthwhile is gone. To make things worse, they replaced the Sears Grand sign out front after the remodel with an OBNOXIOUSLY MASSIVE new stylized Sears sign that makes them look so desperate like they're begging you to come inside.
I've been here sporadically over the years only when what I needed had to come from Sears. Just a few months ago, you had empty shelves, abandoned cash registers and lots of unused space.
Worst place ever. I don't write reviews but I'm going to make an exception. There is one guy working three major departments so you don't get help. I can't even check out to buy a snow blower. No wonder they're going out of business. Never coming back.
I’ve had only bad experiences at this Sears and I’ve given this store it’s last chance to be a decent shopping experience as they have failed again to provide decent customer service. The employees are clueless and unwillingly to help or even provide basic customer service. Had to wait in line for 45 mins to do a return at the appliance desk. I’ll avoid this place in the future.
Been here lately since the remodel and a lot of that has changed. Not only is the store more presentable, but the service is so much better. Dante in tools was Johnny on the spot with what I'd seen online and couldn't find. Not only did he get it for me, but was able to answer my questions on this and other craftsman tools. Had a similar experience in appliances on the same visit.
It's sad, Sears Grand could have been something special but they quit trying and just trashed a good concept. Now it's just another clothing and appliance store with mediocre service. There is a Kohls, Lowe's, Walmart, Target, Old Navy, etc. in the same shopping center, nothing sets Sears apart anymore. R.I.P. Sears Grand.
If you haven't been here lately, it's worth a try. I will say they did cut back on some of the under perferforming departments, but it makes what they have that much better. Hope this one lasts and they don't change a thing here.
Not bad in the tool section still fun and they now have a checkout counter there. The rest of the place is nice but the main checkout can be really slow.
